Marie T. Hilliard, PhD, JCL, MS, MA, RN, DM, serves as a Senior Fellow at the National Catholic Bioethics Center and on the faculty of Bioethics at the University of Mary.

Hilliard served as colonel (Ret.) in the United States Army Reserve and worked as a registered nurse for over 20 years. She is a canon lawyer with extensive professional experience in medical ethics, public policy, advocacy, and health care regulation. Hilliard has served the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops in the implementation of the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services as well as church-state relations.
